It's one of my favourite dishes! I hope you guys try this recipe! It's real easy!
Ingredients
1 beetroot, grated
1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dhal
2 green chillies, silted (i used chilli padi! they add a great flavour to the dish!)
1 tsp grated ginger
A few curry leaves
A pinch of asafoetida(hing)
Salt to taste
1. Heat oil in wok. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida.
2. When mustard seeds start splattering, add urad dhal.
3. Once urad dhal has browned, add chilli, curry leaves and grate ginger and mix well.
4. Add grated beetroot and mix well.
5. Add salt and sprinkle some water to let the beetroot cook.
6. Stir occasionally. Check if beet is cooked by using spatula to slice a piece of grated beet. If it slices immediately, it is cooked!
7. Remove from heat and plate it!
P.S. Sorry I couldn't take pic of the plated dish... my relatives came just when i finished the dish! So had to serve immediately! :( I will add a pic when I do this again! :D
